PC Student Awarded CAPED Veterans Scholarship

The Porterville College Disability Resource Center (DRC) is bursting with pride! We are thrilled to announce that PC student, Silvestre Rodriguez, has been awarded the prestigious 2025 CAPED Veterans Scholarship.
Silvestre, a veteran enrolled in the DRC support program, stopped by recently to share the fantastic news. This $500 scholarship, provided by the California Association for Postsecondary Education and Disability (CAPED), is specifically awarded to students who are veterans and enrolled in their school’s disability support program.
The scholarship winner was officially announced earlier this month at the 2025 CAPED Annual Convention in Santa Clara, California. Though Silvestre accepted the honor remotely, the Porterville College DRC was well-represented by two of our dedicated team members: Ko Yang (DRC Counselor) and Lurdes Bolaños (DRC Program Technician), who were in attendance to celebrate his achievement.
We are incredibly excited for Silvestre and commend him on this well-deserved recognition of his dedication to academic success.
Congratulations, Silvestre! We are so proud to have you as a member of the Porterville College community!
